The development is expected to create hundreds of new jobs and attract significant new investment to the Tarneit area, including plans to bring a hotel, office and university campus to the precinct.
The developer, Countryland Australia, is also working to attract education providers and is seeking additional retail and commercial operators to establish businesses within the development, creating a vibrant new destination for the growing Tarneit community.
Tarneit is one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing areas and is located approximately 27 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD. With major infrastructure, residential growth and increasing demand for education, retail, hospitality and employment opportunities, the area is positioned for significant economic growth.
Countryland Australia is planning to introduce a hotel chain alongside approximately 140 wellness resort-style homes — a first-of-its-kind residential concept in the country. The development is expected to represent more than $400 million in construction and associated investment, supporting thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities throughout the development and its supply chain.
Countryland Australia CEO Mr Intaj Khan said the project would deliver substantial benefits for the local community and economy.
“This development has the potential to significantly transform the local job market and strengthen the local economy. We want to create not just homes, but a complete community with opportunities for employment, education, retail, hospitality and investment,” said Mr Khan.
The developer is continuing discussions with potential education providers, retail operators and hospitality partners as it works towards creating a major mixed-use destination in Tarneit.
With residential, wellness, hospitality, education, retail and employment opportunities planned within the broader precinct, the development could become a significant new economic and lifestyle hub for Melbourne’s growing western suburbs.
